If anyone knows me, they KNOW I have never worked on my birthday.....EVER! This year is different. There is so much work to be done at the office and I have a staff meeting that I don't wanna miss.
Did I just say I don't want to miss a staff meeting??
I don't know, its weird. Its like, I am sad to not be a kid anymore with birthday parties and fun...but I think I am just seeing it in a new light now. And since I am ultimately enjoying the work that I do now...a birthday in the office won't be bad at all.
So I know that I haven't posted in awhile, super busyyyy. I am still working on the first dinner at Bay Preserve. We are getting RSVP's in everyday. It is harder this year I have noticed. The tickets are $200/person or $900 for all 6 dinners in the series....and some people are like "oh wow, well we won't be attending at that price." Obviously that's understandable...it's not like I can go out and buy $200 tickets to sit at a dinner just to converse with Sarasota's A list (because I get it for free!). Butttt, all I am saying is last year, people were more receptive to the prices.
Last year people had money I suppose.
But yeah, even I admit that is a little pricey for a dinner. Our annual Gala tickets last year were $250/person....and that was a reallyyyyy nice Gala. This is just an average dinner...and I'm not even sure on the entertainment yet!! I am also working on putting together a nice gift bag for the guests. They can't be too nice of gifts since we are a non-profit after all...
Today I had to be in the office at 6:30 am! We had a breakfast for the Economic Development Council of Sarasota (AKA...a bunch of professional, important business people). We had so much food left over. I wish I could have taken it to a shelter or something. Maybe I will look into that for the future.
So besides my birthday, the only other thing on the agenda for this week is an on-site walk through on wednesday for our 2nd dinner in the series.
Oh no it's after midnight now...I am 23. =(
